August 6, 2009 Annual Picnic at Underbluff in Henderson Harbor to recognize scholarship recipients.
September 24, 2009 Jefferson Children’s Home, Watertown Karen Richmond, Executive Director, and members of her staff offered a tour of the facility and presented on the variety of programs and services provided for the community today.
October 22, 2009 Co-hosted with the POLIS Club of Jefferson Community College an open forum on Healthcare Reform featuring Bob Johnson, MD.
October 31, 2009 Strategic Planning Worksession led by Mary Perrine, Coordinator of Institutional Research and Planning at Jefferson Community College.
November 17, 2009 Flower Memorial Library, for our annual anniversary celebration and recognition of milestone years of service to the Jefferson County Branch.
December 8, 2009 Young women residents of the Jefferson County Children’s Home joined us at the Make and Take Gourmet in Watertown for some holiday baking and merry-making. The Children’s Home was the recipient of our community service project this year.
January 23, 2010 YMCA Fairgrounds, Watertown Women’s Health and Nutrition workshops.
February 16, 2010 Movie Night at Ives Hill Retirement Community featuring “Iron Jawed Angels”, a true story of Women’s struggle for the right to vote.
March 23, 2010 A global Perspective on the Oppression of Women: Stories of Strength and Suffering from Sierra Leone and Malawi co-hosted by Jefferson Community College. Speakers: Katie FitzGerald, adjunct professor of philosophy at JCC; Tammie Miller, Branch Director—Fairgrounds YMCA; Renee Waterbury, elementary school teacher; and Heather White, elementary school teacher.
