A Moment of Thanks Giving – a “Prayer for Grace”

Sylvia Stuber Heap shared this message of “thanks giving” with us recently. We would like to share it with you! Sylvia tells us these are the words she spoke at the autumn brunch of the American Association of University Woman (AAUW) held on September 30, 1995.

Heavenly Father, We are thrilled by the loveliness of this day, the exquisite glory of the season. Help us to live fully awake to the beauty that is all around us and help us to see beauty when skies are not blue and everything is not all right. Among the difficult choices of our lives help us to find  what is true, and good not only for ourselves,  but for others. Among the tumult of responsibilities and the cacophony of voices needing our attention, help us to find an inner quiet and peace. Guide us through the challenges we all face, grant us courage to meet them with heads held high. Strengthen us with the warmth of friendships and teach us to find balance, laughter, and love. Amen.
