On October 22, 2013, AAUW Jeff.Co. members got together at the BOCES Culinary Arts dining room for the event “Creating a Healthy Culture: It’s more than what you eat!”. Our guest speaker was Janet Lomastro – RN IBCLC Coordinator for Maternal and Infant Nutrition, Cornell Cooperative Extension Jeff. Co. The dinner was prepared by the BOCES students coordinated by our own Margaret Williams, on the menu- bacon/cheese quiche, Vegetable/cheese quiche, minestrone soup, ceasar salad, and apple crisp.
The event gave our members a chance to reflect about eating habits and how society and the environment can influence on healthy decisions.
