We are celebrating the International Women’s Day with a Dinner on Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at the Commons on Fort Drum starting at 6PM. Our Keynote Speaker is Brigadier General Miyako Schanely.
General Schanely is from Black River, NY and she is the first Japanese American Woman to hold the rank of Brigadier General in the US Army Reserves.
The Filipino-American Association of NNY will provide singing and dancing for us!
For those of you driving and don’t have a military ID you must come onto post through the Iraqi Freedom Drive gate off Route 11 or the Gasoline Alley gate off Route 26. You will need to show your valid driver’s license, proof of insurance and current vehicle registration at the gate to obtain a pass. Individuals will be asked the purpose of their visit and length of time they plan to spend on Fort Drum. You just say your going to the AAUW dinner at the Commons and will leave sometime before 10PM.
