Here’s what you’ve all been waiting for!
REGISTER TODAY for the 11th annual Business of Women Networking Conference. It is going to be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 8:30 am to 4 pm at the Ramada, Arsenal Street in Watertown. If you register by November 5, you get the special Early Bird rate of only $30 which includes wonderful workshops, inspiring words of wisdom, a light breakfast and a yummy lunch, plus lots of opportunities to network and learn more about area businesses at our sponsor tables. After that date, you’ll pay $40 until the deadline of November 13.

We’re including plenty of networking time for you to chat with each other and to visit our sponsor tables. Come prepared with plenty of business cards!

We are going to kick off the event with what promises to be a very inspiring and fun experience with Joleene Moody ( Joleene is a former central New York television reporter turned transformational speaker, author and client-closing expert for women entrepreneurs who will be speaking on “From Desperation to Inspiration.” We’ve seen Joleene present on a number of topics before, and she’s fun and motivating!

When it comes to bringing someone on board or engaging with you, how they respond hinges on what you are really after in that moment. If you are coming from a place of desperation (“I need this to happen!” “I need this client!”), the transaction will fall apart quickly. This is because you are more concerned about how the outcome will affect you as opposed to how you can truly serve them. This happens when we operate from a place of lack. Our security is threatened, and so we respond from a place of desperation. And where we come from — is where we’ll go. Ask yourself, where are the representations of security showing up in your life? How does this hold you back in business? In your personal life? Joleene will share the difference between desperation and inspiration, and what it takes to make the mental shift so you close more sales, gain more sponsorships and engage more clients. And of course, live a more trusting, peaceful and surrendered life.

We’ll also have a workshop on how volunteering is great for your business; an intensive networking session, and two options for the final workshop, a goal setting (and achieving!) presentation OR a tutorial session on setting up a business Facebook page. Many of you have been asking for a hands-on workshop on this form of social media and we’ve listened! And did you know, using your personal page for business is not only frowned upon by Facebook but also turns off your FB friends!?! So be sure to let us know if you wish to participate in this session. You must be able to bring your own laptop or tablet and already have a personal Facebook page set up.

At lunchtime we’ll get to hear from Emily Herman who, with her mother Bonnie, opened The Scrub Hub in Watertown in 2013. Their shop sells all sorts of “stylish and flattering garb for every medical occasion” as Bonnie was quoted in the Watertown Daily Times last year.

Plus, did we mention networking? Gift basket and gift certificate giveaways? A chance to visit our sponsor tables? And chocolate?

As we have for the past few years, we’ll be accepting donations for the Urban Mission that day of food items and personal hygiene products (see the event registration form for a complete list). Donors will have a chance to win a gift basket from the Spicy Wench!

Major sponsors ($500) get three free admissions; Gold sponsors ($250) get two free admissions, and Purple sponsors ($100) get one free admission. Sponsors who are also vendors are welcome to sell from their tables.
