Jefferson County AAUW & Girls Scouts Collaborate on S.T.E.M. Day for Girls

The Jefferson County Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) and the Girl Scouts have collaborated to hold a science, technology, engineering and math (S.T.E.M.) program for girls at Jefferson Community College on Saturday, October 17, 2015. Girls in grades 2 – 4, are invited to Grow Your S.T.E.M. Knowledge Becoming a Computer Expert! Girls will learn how computers work by creating games and computer applications (apps) and take part in an inventor workshop. The inventor workshop will put their creativity to the test while playing games of logic. The inventor workshop will count toward the Girl Scout Brownie Inventor Badge and computer workshop will count towards the Brownie Computer Expert Badge. Both workshops will count towards the Junior Entertainment Technology Badge. The day starts at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 12:00 p.m. Cost is $6 per child and includes materials and a light snack.
